Saksham Shrestha aka OMG SPAKE is a visionary music producer, hip-hop performer, and sound engineer known for incorporating ancient Nepalese mantras, hymns, and chants in his music, infusing traditional Newari folk rhythms, melodies, and instruments with the pulsating energy of hip-hop.
Grounded in his own Newar lineage, his creations are informed with philosophies of Hinduism and Buddhism, seamlessly weaving together the tapestry of modern hip-hop culture with the vibrant and timeless tunes of Nepal.
The “Khatra Barz” series is uploaded on the Khatra Lifestyle YouTube channel. So far, there have been five episodes released. The first featured Dong and was uploaded on March 3, 2023, accumulating 2M views. The second episode, featuring Yoddha, was released on March 25, 2023, and has surpassed 1M views. The third episode introduced the renowned rapper 5:55, garnering over 3.5M views in just 11 months. Following that, Uniq Poet, another prominent rapper, achieved nearly 1M views within four months. The series also showcased Yabi The Goat, whose episode amassed 1.2Mviews in just two months. Perhaps this is not the end, as more faces may be featured in future episodes of “Khatra Barz.”
